2010 OCSFA Fall Salon Series – A Performance of Jazz and Poetry

Timothy Young, Dan Cavanaugh and Timothy Ishii

The evening will feature Minnesota based, award winning Timothy Young reading his poetry accompanied by jazz musicians Dan Cavanaugh and Timothy Ishii. The group debuted their collaboration at UTA in 2008. This experimental blend of music and poetry will give a unique opportunity to be introduced to new forms of both.

Timothy Young has been publishing and performing his poetry since 1983. He founded Two Boots Productions in 2004 to produce poetry, music and art events at community events and festivals. Dan Cavanaugh is a composer and jazz pianist on the faculty at UTA and Tim Ishii is a composer, jazz saxophonist and director of jazz studies at UTA. Other performers to be announced.
